Looking for a pair of 5.25" IDE / PATA to USB2 Optical Drive Enclosures, preferably with RCA audio out

Hey all

I'm looking for a good deal on a pair of quality enclosures for a couple of rare IDE/PATA Optical drives.

Yes, this is for older tech. No, a SATA based replacement drive option isn't available.

It seems that in recent years companies stopped making quality versions of this kind of product.

So far, i've found this on amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/5-25-3-5-in...ms?ie=UTF8
It is $20 plus shipping, and it got some fairly terrible reviews for quality.

I've seen a NextStar NST-530U2 (not the S2, which is SATA), but that one seems to be going for twice or more than the amazon one.

Sweet spot is about $20-$35 shipped to the US, preferably new, and with good reviews.

Anyone out there know of such at beast?

Don't see why you would want to continue to support both USB 2 and IDE (which is really old). I would think all you should do is hook in an old machine if you can find one and then transfer whatever data you want to recover to a portable drive.

That said, the below might do the job for all of $7 lol:

Thanks for the reply.

This wouldn't work. I need 5.25" enclosures, specifically for a rare cd burner, the Plextor Premium, which are ide. I only have a laptop as my primary computer.
