This one is MUCH better...http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Q7EPS...B005A4OO80

When you buy a foam mattress, the real key is having a good amount of memory foam on top plus several layers of other types of foam so that it "breathes" and has air flow. The green tea one does.

I tried several until I figured this out.

It's currently decompressing in my daughters room (received it at 5 hours ago.) I'll let you know in a day or so.

A few of the reviews say that this mattress gets really hot. Any truth to this?

so honest question here guys for those with experience. I have a pillow top that i bought a 3" memory foam topper for from costco. The bed is now too soft for me to sleep on and i woke up in pain because there isnt enough support.

If i wanted to just ditch my POS bed and return the topper, how do i pick a thickness? From what i have read, 8" would be most firm while 12" would be most soft. Is that true? Anyone have experience? Thanks!

All memory foam mattresses get hot. I have a very expensive iComfort from Serta that's supposed to have cooling technology built in and it's still hotter than the sun. I actually have a much bigger problem with it in the wintertime than in the summer time though, because in the summer time I sleep with only a sheet and it's not too cold. In the wintertime I use a blanket and it ends up getting boiling hot under the blanket at which point I kick it off and proceed to freeze to death.

That said, it's orders of magnitude more comfortable than my old fancy spring mattress, so all in all I'd recommend it.

12" would still be way harder than what you are used too. I have a 12" that is rated as the "softest" of memory foams and it's still very firm.
