Definitely get their warranty. It never hurts to. I bought a Vizio E47 Refurb in 2013 and it developed 3 small dark spots this year. One would flicker/dim on and off. I learned if I turned the ambient lighting setting to high the spot would stop dimming on and off. I stuck with it for a month or 2 to see if it would get any worse.

I just started my claim last week for that dimming spot. Warranty process was simple. They just wanted a picture of the situation. They had a shipping box, label and packing material out to me 2 days later. Since I've received all the material the back light has totally crapped out. It looked like letterbox...everything outside of the middle third of the screen was dim. My warranty has me covered til Jan 2017.

Are they fixing yours or sending a new (different) one?

I haven't dropped it off at a ups store yet. I'll drop it off today. It's going to Buffalo NY and I'm already in NY so hopefully I'll know what their decision is pretty quick.

I'm seeing open box for $420? I've been contemplating that one and would pull the trigger at $360 myself.
