Through Wednesday, May 25th, Lowes has on sale a couple of very large, super energy efficient, high CFM ceiling fans. Each at their highest (30 watt) setting produces a whopping 9000 CFM of airflow. These are indoor/outdoor fans perfect for either a very large room or for an outdoor covered porch where either will produce enough wind to keep the mosquitoes at bay.

As a point of reference, the Vornado 660 personal fan, which is always making SD Front Page, at its 29 watt setting produces a meager 257 CFM of airflow. So for the same electric usage, the Fanimation moves 35 times the Vornado's volume of air. Yes, apples and oranges, but still.

Both of these Fanimation fans use quiet, energy efficient DC-motors, and make the EPA's Energy Star most efficient fans list. They each include 18 watt LED light kits and wireless remotes.

Comparable Fanimation fans at other stores sell for much higher prices.

Fanimation Studio Collection Covert 64-in Dark Bronze Downrod Mount Indoor/Outdoor Ceiling Fan with LED Light Kit and Remote Control ENERGY STAR [lowes.com] - $199

Fanimation Studio Collection Slinger V2 72-in Brushed Nickel Downrod Mount Indoor/Outdoor Ceiling Fan with LED Light Kit and Remote Control (9-Blade) ENERGY STAR [lowes.com] - $249

For additional savings, don't forget to use Lowes.com coupons if you have them, and/or cash back sites.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Great price! The brushed nickel one looks similar to a Big A$$ fan (also DC motors).

how can a fan use only 30 watts to push 9000cfm? i'm genuinely curious.

Lots of surface area with large fan blades. It just takes longer to build up speed.

Still, that sounds like a pretty great DC motor.

This page [delmarfans.com] and this video [youtube.com] give good explanations of how DC motors work and why they are far more energy efficient.

Looks like a BAF haiku ripoff. Same features too. Maybe some competition will bring them down in price.

I bought 6 Fanimation fans just over 30 days ago and Lowe's isn't volunteering a price adjustment - o well. They look great and push a good amount of air. I wish i could dock the remotes in the wall or something. They come with remotes and a wall plate but you have to just kind of screw it into the sheetrock. I think I'm just going to velcro the dock plate to the wall.

Note, they are pretty large and MUCH cheaper than Big A$$ Fans. Also, if for some reason do not want the lighting feature they come with a metal plate to use instead.

Weird, did you call or go in the store for the adjustment? If they won't help...just buy another fan at current price, and return it using the old higher priced receipt.

Yea, I was thinking about that but it's kind of a hassle. I actually did it by email as it's in my second house and it's 2 hrs away in the Sacramento area. It'd save me a couple/ few hundred (used a Mover's coupon) but kind of a pain.
