If you're rough on headphones but still want quality sound at a disposable price these might be the headphones for you. They're very near the popular Piston 3 having nearly identical sound and geometry but lack the snazzy case and metal embellishments. Nonetheless they are legit Xiaomi and feature 1more audio components. Product verification QR code attached to plug.

I haven't actually broken them open but from all appearances these seem to be Piston 3's with much of the plastic replaced by metal, a simplified microphone/control, and a flat cord instead of braided Kevlar. As a consequence of the flat cord they don't ride as comfortably as the Piston 3 full edition. Sound quality is similar enough that I can't tell the two apart, but I'm not an audiophile. I paid $8.00 for mine a month ago so you're saving $3 from that.

Just as a note, Xiaomi tends to do limited product runs--they make it, and even if it's a winner, they move on. The Piston 2 was everywhere for $15 to $30 last year and now fakes are fetching $45.00. It seems as if Chinese retailers are liquidating their Piston 3's in advance of Xiaomi's new 1more capsule earbud. So get them now when they're cheap because they'll be much more down the road if you can even find real ones at all.

I think it was Tiny deal. They look like the real thing but they didn't have the Mi tag with the QR code. They also just came in a white box with extra ear pieces thrown in. No custom insert holding the headphones or the extra pieces.

I literally got mine from Everbuying a week ago(ordered a month or so ago) and they were not fakes. None of the Xiaomi I've purchase from EB has been fake. They even managed to ship me the Mi Wifi Router 3 ten days before it's official release date.

Anyways, here's a proof pic to show the earphones are legit and that I am not in an a shady Singapore Internet Cafe.

Bought a pair of legit P3's and I actually don't know what the fuss is about. They sound fine. Totally and completely fine, nothing to write home about though.

...Actually at $5 honestly you can't really do better, with all the fanfare I just assumed they were gonna knock my socks off-- not the case. They're just decent earphones at bargain bin prices.

It's okay. I'm not impressed because it seems over hyped.

I can't comment on the quality but I always hesitate when I see a xiaomi or other similar product marked as knockoff.

I stopped caring about SD hype trains. I remember everyone talked up a pair of monoprice earbuds and I basically got the same experience, don't see what's so good about them. I also got the P3s but found them slightly better than average (Still nothing special).
