I am looking for a basic laptop that I can use to do internet browsing as well as just everyday use for my teenagers.

I do have this other Asus model on store pickup already and am wondering if this would

theres not going to be a worlds of difference for everyday usage with some browsing etc.
but teenagers...depends whether they're boys or girls but boys are most likely going to try to play some games and this is going to be a lot better.

If a bigger size does not bother you, this is a lot more of a PC for just $50 more. Also, may seem small, but the resolution from 1366 to 1600 is going to be noticeable.

Id recommend this.

How is the screen resolution on this one? is it equivalent to a 1080 high res screen, or is it closer to 720 because of bigger size?

theres nothing equivalent to a 1080p. a 1080p is a 1080p, same goes for other resolutions, unless you meant scaling from higher resolutions or aspect ratio.
And if you meant the latter, they're all 16:9.

This has a native 900p which is definitely tolerable on laptop screens, and literally the standard of the 16:9 aspect ratio.

1600x900 to be exact. 1080p is 1900x1080 and that vertical space is what really matters and as you can see, theres not much difference between the two.

Same here. Some people might say depends on your need.. Need is what is better value for money.

I hope BB is not shutting down, they have been running some amazing deals....

1600x900. Not a great resolution for this screen size, but what do you expect at this price?
