According to rtings.com it has 4:4:4 at 4k and a input lag of ~28 ms which makes this a pretty great choice for computer use. I just wish it had judder-free...

This is the same panel as the 6500, except that it's curved, basically that's it as far as differences between the two. I bought it on sale from walmart.com last month for about 650, so this is a really good price. That said, a 48" 4K screen 18" from your face is mind-bending. The curve isn't that noticeable from the front view when you're this close. (i'm typing on the thing right now). Anyway love it, but it's almost too-big...
And yes Chroma 4:4:4 so very good choice as a PC monitor, but unless your desk is really tall, get a wall-mount bracket with spacers and long bolts for it. Or I bought a desk-mount bracket for it, that let me raise it up another 6" or so.

Thats my fear ... it being too big and 40 might be a better choice....

is it really in your face big ? Do you have any pics of your setup?

if this is like the ju6500, it's a VA panel and has terrible refresh rates. Some slow moving pictures flicker badly. I just returned a ju6500 I was using as a computer monitor

Was just about to pull the trigger. NJ sales tax kills this deal for me. With NJ tax added, only $20 less than $699 regular price from Vanns through Amazon.

I just bought a 43" Vizio M series to use as a monitor then found out about this 4:4:4 chroma stuff. Took it back and got the 40" Samsung JU6500. Sharper text and a better choice for a monitor. I'd have to say I actually prefer the 40" to the 43". 43 was just a little too big, was moving my head around too much. If you want it farther back and you use Windows upscaling to make icons and text bigger you could use a larger screen I guess. But to keep it at 100% at 4K resolution you have to sit close to read, I can't imagine anything bigger than 43 for that. My humble opinion.

I would not jump the gun. Wait until Sunday when every website and brick and mortar store will likely put close to their entire inventory of televisions on sale. With all the newer 4k starting to come to market with lots of bells and whistles you are likely going to see deep price cuts on this year's models which work just fine. Check the usual sites but also check dell.com they often have ridiculous price cuts at certain times of the year.
