Always test you Flash media with H2TestW... it is a trivial matter for an unscrupulous actor to produce counterfiet cards with the headers overwritten to read as something they are not.

The only way to make sure your flash media is legit is to test its benchmarks. Ebay and Ali Express are filled with vendors selling fake flash. And even reputable merchants are prone to purchasing wholesale orders of counterfeit flash and reselling them. Last flash I ordered came from BH Photo and although it was the specified storage capacity, its transfer rate 10% below what it was supposed to be. Card looked just like a regular lexar card with this same theme and you had to take a microscope to the X in Lexar to see that it wasn't right.

I never would have noticed if my Nvidia Shield Android TV hadn't told me that there was rat in the woodpile. Kudos to Nvidia for producing a device that tests flash cards before formatting them to for use with Marshmallow.
Don't blame bulk packaging, blame marketing and your lack of knowledge.
Check the amount of usable space vs the advertised space on your phone/computer/tablet.

The page I sent you to is the author's page and therefor the most reliable place to get the program. It's available through places like cnet and softpedia, but will include an installer that wants to include whatever type of garbage they're including(search bars, spyware, adware, etc).

The program is not complex. It just writes to every sector and reads them back, logging the speeds associated with each transaction. When you run the program your first choice will be Dutch or English. I you are having trouble reading the Author's page use Chrome or Google Translate and you should be good to go...

The Kev Master is wondering how many times is this deal going to get reposted as the original one never really went away as he looked at this a few times over the last few days before finally pulling the trigger this morning for his new Motorola Luge MP3 player

The Kev Master doesn't post much these days. He used to be pretty active a few years back. Anyway, good to see your posts.

Can anyone think of a reason why this would not work with an Amazon kids fire tablet? I realize the performance specs of this card may be overkill, but honestly there's nothing worse than an angry 2yr old crying because loading his favorite Thomas video is taking forever haha, but seriously this card is $5 cheaper than the same capacity card that Amazon is always pimpin! As long as the storage capacity isn't greater than what the device supports, any micro sd card should work... right?

Well I went ahead and pulled the trigger... hope it does indeed work. Thanks for everyone's help. XOXO to the Slickdeals family đź’—

From my own experiences with bogus flash on eBay I'd spend $5.00 on Amazon if it were not 3rd party. eBay has always refunded my money on bogus flash after sending an hwtest2 screenshot, but the sheer frequency of fake sd cards has burnt my consumer confidence. You can still get robbed on Amazon, but it is a far less frequent occurrence. This is one item where you really have to be particular about who you purchase from... best case scenario you lose some downloaded mp3s that are easily replaced, worst case you lose something that really matters like a video of your child's first steps.
