CDMA GSM queston on phone

Hello. I am looking to replace my girlfriends phone for cheap. She is on a verizon contract. Her phone was dropped in water and she did not have any warranty or backup.

So here is my question because I find phone lingo so confusing. My understanding is Sprint and Verizon are the two CDMA band companies.

I have tons of sprint phones and found none of them are of any use on Verizon CDMA network. So my question is this.

I keep seeing all these phones on Daily Steals that state......

Apple iPhone 5c (16GB Verizon/GSM Unlocked) Cellular Phone
+ Free OEM Apple Case!

Will this phone take the sim card from her Galaxy Core Prime from Verizon and work on that contract?

Thank you for you help.

I don't think so. CDMA SIM card is married to the phone.
You will need to take that iPhone 5c to Apple store to ask for new SIM card.

Yes. In case of Verizon you can take the SIM card to any other phone. Not so with Sprint though.

The one issue you may face is that iPhone5C uses nano SIM card. Galaxy Core Prime uses Micro SIM card. You have to cut it to that size. Alternately, you can call Verizon, tell them that you have a "Bring Your Own Phone". They will ship you a new SIM card. Although you can do this online, they never seem to send the order.

i think you can do this easily by log in to the verizon account, choose activate new phone, enter phone's ESN/IMEI etc...

Also VZW prepaid won't activate on postpaid unless used on prepaid first.

the best value in new phones for VZW is probably the Google Nexus 5X, only the US version had CDMA. Deals here are usually the int'l version.
