Nvidia Pascal.

Is this the REAL thing? Do we need to buy a new GPU next year if we have this Nvidia Pascal?

I'm really not sure what you're asking. Yes, the Pascal line of Nvidia graphic cards dropped this past Friday with the GTX 1070 and 1080. Yes that article is accurate. Pascal is far more power efficient and a big leap ahead in performance over the Maxwell line. I'm just waiting to buy mine. EVGA's website was logjammed so bad that it was down for maintenance for most of Friday for the GTX 1080.

will wait for the prices to die down a bit. i think my 980ti will still last a year or more.

The 1080 Ti might be out by then too! I'm happy enough with my 970 so I'll be holding out for now as well.

yeah. if the 1080ti comes out chances are they 1080 and 1070 will become just a little bit cheaper.
