Not the best deal and may be a warm deal considering some new MacBook Pros are due on the corner however this is the lowest price I've seen for the updated MacBook Air models with the 5th gen Core i5 CPUs and 8gb of RAM. On sale this week for $899 and if you apply the newest EDU coupons (just came out today) you can take another $100 off = $799 + tax.

Really the only thing wrong with it is the low resolution TN panel, it still is the best combination of performance, size, keyboard, trackpad, and battery life of any laptop.

There isn't a 6th gen Macbook Air yet, read first page of apple site: http://www.apple.com/macbook-air/ it clearly states "New fifth-generation Intel Core processors"
We got to wait till WWDC in June to find out

Isn't $100 the usual, every day educational Apple discount for their computers? (update: Oh, I see....it's already $100 off and then another 100 for college students)

I do love these Macbook Airs for workhorse computers....all day battery, very fast to charge, wonderful keyboard, and the screens are high contrast... these screens are great on the eyes especially for Office Suite type work....also, their is no glare on these screens.

The Airs are no longer hip, but they are well designed

I got the coupon, really debating getting an open box Macbook air. Now that it has 8gb its certainly more feasible for me.

For those that dont know, the verbiage in the coupons seems to have changed. The student $100 off works on open box items.

So im looking at $767.52 total including tax + 5% back for using my bestbuy card for a total of $731.52. $731 is a pretty good deal for one of these I think.

Looks like you can even get an open box one cheaper if they have on in a store near you.
