Hello Fellow SD'ers!

I have a 32GB HP Stream 7 Windows 8.1 Signature Edition 7" Tablet from this deal -

...purchased a little over a year ago.

I mainly use my iPad, but occasionally use the HP when there are specific apps I need to run or just to read ebooks etc...just odd things.

No real issues really until this past Friday when I went to pick it up and it looked, well...ODD.

Upon picking it up I discovered that the battery was totally BLOATED and had popped off the back and the case...(juuuuust after the warranty expires of course!)

Anyone else have any battery issues with this tablet?

I'm hoping that the battery is replaceable as there are some cheap ones on eBay ~ $15.

UPDATE - I did find the following tear down video, looks like disassembly to get to the battery won't be too bad; however getting the battery itself off looks like a pain. HP apparently did not want this battery to come out Stick Out Tongue

I would still try and contact HP support and see what they would do. For a battery to expand like that in under a year is not normal at all. It can also be very dangerous.
