Only $50 off normal best buy price ($100 off stated MSRP in announcement), but this is a pretty good deal as these TVs have just been released.

Main Features:
178 degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles
Really good built in sound/speakers
Native 4k Netflix and YouTube Apps
Native Amazon and Vudu apps but currently 1080p
4-year Warranty
Local 10-zone Dimming
Octa-Core Processor
2x 4k 60Hz HDMI inputs
1x 4k 30Hz MHL input
1x 4k 30Hz ARC input

From reading various articles, I gather that the image quality is along the lines of mid-range Sony/LG/Samsung.

Also consider the native 4k apps so you don't have to buy a Roku4 (at least not right now)

test chroma 4:4:4 with this picture file.

bottom 2 rows of text must be crystal clear to confirm chroma 444.

hmm. Best Buy says 1 but product announcements I found said all Hisense 4k TVs come with 4 year warranty. Not sure which is right.

edit: Amazon says 4 year after registration http://www.amazon.com/Hisense-50H8C-50-Ultra-LCD/dp/B01E6PGSGY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1464698196&sr=8-1&keywords=50h8c

this is correct. it is one year, and then hisense extends and additional three years after you register it.

Is this actually a deal? What about the 50" Hisense that was $240 the other day at Wal-Mart? How does this compare to that TV, which is also listed here at BJs for $430: http://www.bjs.com/hisense-50-4k-...Id=2000391.

Is this just a newer model?

This is the 2016 model which includes High Dynamic Range (HDR) which I haven't seen in anything under $1000. There's a few other things that the H7 model does not have but HDR seems to be the thing that separates it from the rest of the sub $1k 4K's.

Actually if you start researching TV's you'll find that most don't have true 120Hz until you reach the real high dollar units.

I'm guessing since they only use the term HDR, that it only does HDR10. Can anyone confirm this?
