Freedompop Kyocera Hydro Icon in Boot Loop

HI

I have Kyocera Hydro Icon that I purchased in July 2015, and since this weekend it is in a boot loop, start screen shows "powered by android" then vibrate and repeat. I have tried to factory reset but no success. Once in maybe 20 attempts it will boot up, but restart within a few min and back to boot looping. Curiously the only time it boots properly is when it is plugged into a power supply.

The device used to gets a firmware upgrade, but it never installed correctly. So I always cancel it.

1) Has anyone seen this issue and knows a fix. Please share.

2) If not: What is the best cheap LTE replacement for this phone. I used it exclusively as a car GPS.

I think it's telling that it only works plugged in the battery may be end of life.

What carrier are you using it with.

Hmmm, that may be a reason.

I use it with FreedomPop only, was working great till Sunday when I left it in the car and it gave the message "Very Hot so shutting off" and then it never worked.

So it was a used phone. 2 year old. You bought a 2 year old used phone.

That's a super important detail you left out of your original post. It became physically damaged, most likely beyond repair.

Ya after the physical damage due to heat, I would buy a new (current phone) at this point. I doubt there is firmware out there that could be flashed to it or that it would work or worth the time. Time to move on.

No I don't have any experience with the carrier or low end LTE phones.
