SG4 transplant

I have 2 SG4's with different issues. One unit - the firmware/etc is screwed and is in a boot loop. I've tried everything online to get it working to no avail. The other, I think the screen is messed up. It's not cracked or anything, it just doesn't work. You can hear when the SG4 logo comes on, when the ATT logo comes on, etc, just the screen is always blank.

So I thought.... could I transplant the PCB/etc from the non-working screen one to the one with the braindead PCB?

How difficult is this?

Considering you can get a mint condition S4 from swappa.com for roughly $130 or less (good to fair condition ones are under $100), I do not see why you would want to bother trying to replace a broken screen or PCB.

Follow the ifixit guide and or look for some videos on youtube. It won't be easy but it doesn't look too bad. I would only do this for fun if you had the time. Make sure to label your screws. Save the celebratory beer until after things are back together and working tooSmilie
