excel 2013 vs 2016, less buggy or not?

br1ckhouse 339 50 June 2, 2016 at 01:03 PM
When i made the switch from 2010 to 2013, all office programs worked well but slowly, I noticed that excel crashed a lot (from never to about 3-5 times a month) at work. Now, it sometimes freezes when loading. Sometimes I feel like things didn't improve these two versions and I am wondering if 2016 is any better?

Nothing really new here, Are you making sure you are getting office updates from Microsoft? These don't always come as a part of Windows updates depending on the version of windows your running..

Also do you have any plugins? I know I have some employees using 16 that have a plugin that I have found makes it more unstable. The rest of the people without the plugin have pretty good luck generally.

I've generally tried to look for plug ins or extensions that would create that problem. I would have expected that my machine would have the most problems since I have more of those factors but my boss has a plain vanilla deployment and she has the worst luck with office issues. I had to revert to 2010, which has been working fine for her. I really think there's something wrong with 2013 that is creating issues unrelated to plugs and updates.
