up to eight channels downstream? so does it take away from the upstream channels to give it up to eight channels downstream? just wondering cause eight is the lowest I could go. I would prefer a modern with at least 10 downstream channels.

A lot of people say they are having trouble with activation, and failing after couple months. Maybe its just an end of life product or something..

Yeah, Should have no issues if Woot actually did everything correct. I would go with this over the SB6121. More Downstream channels the better. I brought an Modem like this back in 2013 and still using it to this day. So I got my money worth outta it.

I just found out today that this product is now considered end of life with Comcast, so if you plan on going through them do not buy this modem.

They will still be activated but they are not compatible with many of the speeds Comcast offers. My friend upgraded from 20 meg internet to 105 meg, but since he is using the SB6141 Comcast said he would not be able to get full speeds, and when we tested the bandwidth he only got about 30-40 megs.

SB6141 is easily good for 100mbps, theoretically it can go over 300mbps. Comcast end-of-life-ing modems is probably for Comcast owned modems. If it's actually for customer owned modems, it's probably just a sneaky way of Comcast to get more money from modem rentals by forcing customers to change modems often.

I got my 6141 today from amazon and it's a complete waste of time and energy. Reboot itself randomly and unstable connection. Ethernet light blinking too bright and never work right. I also have the 6190 and it doesn't have the ethernet light on the front and works well but expensive 32x8 vs 8x4...

Comcast marked this as end of life.

According to the tech that worked on my line, Comcast intends to move exclusively to Comcast supplied modems in the next year or so. In the meantime, this one's working for me.

If you're a TWC customer then keep away. Nothing but issues posted related to this device. Run a simple search 6141.
