Front Page Now Covered in Ads

kirkbrown 24 June 4, 2016 at 01:58 AM
At least 40% of the real estate on the front page is now covered with Ads.
There's the banner at the top
There's the new one today... The Target pop up at the bottom. It has a "Hide button" that is non responsive.
There's the "featured deals" below the top banner ad that you can't get rid of
Finally, there's all the ads on the right side.

The website used to be a pleasure to read. Now I find myself just clicking away because it's so annoying with ads

Just my opinion. I know I'm not a super mega user with followers, etc. so my opinion may not matter to those in charge, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Good try but it will not make a difference... Many have tried but the greed of SD continues to drive the website design.

FWIW, many power users like myself agree with you. Maybe you can bookmark a deeper link to the forum of your choice and avoid the ad laden front page? You can even choose to use ad blocking software. All a fine balance on their part on what is too far and will drive away users or to use blockers. I try and allow ad loads, because on some level I believe supporting this site is worthwhile. The deals I find and things I win doing sweepstakes is of value to me.

If you click "preferences" you can hide the featured ads. Hope that helps somewhat. http://slickdeals.net/f/8777011-featured-deals-now-on-classic-view?v=1
