I have an older model of this, before the water level ring. It works very well and fills up very fast. If you do not use continuous drain you could empty this twice a day, depending on your basement's humidity.

Manual emptying can be a bit awkward the first few times you empty it, until you get use to the float mechanisms and how they move when pouring.

Exactly what I did. Power of price matching shouldnt be discounted! The unit works extremely well, no hiccups and I like the simplistic design, looks better IRL IMHO.

Thanks for posting this. Amazon had the same model for $218 a couple of days ago, but the price went back up while it was in my cart so I guess I'll settle for Wal-Mart.

What is this good for? It dehumidify your room so you don't feel sticky? Would it make the room feel much cooler?

This is something for the southern states, if you live in Nevada, chances are you will never need this, but if you are in Florida, you probably need 2.

If I don't run one in my basement I get mold problems (I live in WI)

Couldn't be more incorrect. I live in Buffalo NY and run one in my basement. Any area that has humidity would need one in the basement.

I bought this model back in December, and I'm not really sure i'd recommend it if you're going to be using the tank.

The biggest problem for me tends to be mold forming in the tank and on the tank's lid (splash guard) due to a poor design. The ramp on the lid where the water slides down into the tank is almost level. This leads to warm water sitting at the top of the ramp and mold forming rather quickly.

I use this thing enough that I have to empty the container about once every 2 days. Every time I empty it I have to clean the ramp. About once a week i have to deep clean the tank. Removing the lid is a pain, and getting down in to clean every nook and cranny is too.

I did call Frigidaire about this and they're sending me another container. I'm hoping they may have revamped their design for the tank lid but i doubt it...

For spending over $200 on this unit, I feel like I could of got something better.

Just bought one. Make sure you choose the top "add to cart" otherwise you are actually buying it from another vender at the normal non-sale price.
also bought a 3 year service plan since I've had bad luck with dehumidifiers in the past. Hopefully that isn't going to be a waste of $28 as i never buy service plans.
