This is a completely different 35mm lens. This is the full-frame FX lens. What you are thinking of is the cropped DX lens that is much cheaper.

The 35mm 1.8 normally go for below $200, what's up with inflated prices?

The 70-200 vrii is an awesome lens. Big and heavy, but fast, sharp, and nearly instant AF.

I have the older version of the 70-200VR and it's been a work horse for me for many years. My only complaint is that it is somewhat large and heavy, but if you need a fast zoom those are necessary evils.

No love for the 35mm f/1.4? That's the one I need.

EDIT: Never mind. Found it.

Wish I could justify buying that 70-200. I love the picture quality of my push-pull 80-200, but the insanely slow autofocus can be unbearable at times. But considering it cost me $1200 less than even used 70-200 VRIIs, I just suck it up and live with it.

I think the 80-400 is well worth the extra $200 of the 70-200. I own the 70-200 and I've found myself quite often renting the 80-400 anyways because it performs better than the 70-200 with 2x TC and very rarely do I really need that extra stop of light anymore with how good the noise floor is on Nikon sensors.
