HI,

I request your kind time and opinion for buying a TV. First i used to have Emerson 55 inch LED 1080P tv which i bought for 2014 thanks giving for $210 or so. I loved the TV , the picture the features and all.. a very good thing for the Money. Friday night the screen suddenly turned off and a chime music is coming from the back side (from right). Thought some diode short or so.. took it to mechanic and he said power adapter failure and it will cost $200 plus for the parts and his time.. i gave the TV to him for $60.

Now i am in a market for new TV, dont know if i can wait for July 4th (since i hardly see deals on tvs these days). My budget is $500 to $700 Max. Now the big question is to consider 4k or not.. i know there is very little content on 4k and my impression the other formats lower than 4k wont be good for watching on it. I tried personally few tv's last year from my friends and all look so pale and dull for even latest movies if the content is not 4k. Ot its just my eyes. I personally wanted to take a simple 1080p smart tv (smart is also optional) for the tiem sake and buy a good one when the technology saturates. I have seen most TV's with Roku and google cast embeded to connect to internet..and if they are not capable enough with good hardware..and process them the same going to TV (4k) wont be of any good.. we more have to look for their Processor, compatability and all.. and i do owe xbox 360 and wonder if xbox360 games will be good in 4k...

give all this please suggest me if i have to go fr 1080 p or 4k.. if so a kindly please suggest a good TV.

Thank you very much for looking..

$500 gets you the 50" 4k. $700 the 60" 1080p. In your situation I would get the bigger tv. Enjoy the extra size b/c you're right, 4k content is still not in the foreseeable future.
