For the DVD burner rebate:

"A copy of the Signed Rebate Form, Copy of Clear or Legible
Receipt/Invoice or Packing List, Original UPC AND Serial Number
Barcode
Labels, with order-purchase date between 6/1/2016 and
6/30/2016 must be included with rebate request"

There is a separate Serial Number Barcode, marked as "S/N:", above the UPC barcode and another barcode. Remember to include that in your rebate submission or it might be declined (like mine was last time).

Pretty good deal on the DVD writer anyway. Not sure about the discs, nor if they have a failure rate...

Probably a dumb question, but this can be used to play movies... correct? I see it has read speeds, but it's called "writer"...

Future Reference: If it writes it reads. But to answer your question yes it will play DVDs and CDs

Does this contain the Cinavia copy protection system? You cannot play backups from Cinavia protected discs on new players.

I burn Blu-rays as an orthogonal archival backup copy.
