Was considering purchasing the McAfee Antivirus Plus till I read the hundreds of horrendous reviews on a Consumer Affairs.com website
https://www.consumeraffairs.com/c...virus.html
Customer service from outside the US was unintelligible.
Curious if others were satisfied with this product?

can I apply for the mcafee av plus rebate if I've already submitted a McAfee Internet Security Rebate from the last deal?

McAfee is probably the worse when it comes to computer performance. Literally takes most computers 10-15 minutes on boot up to even start running normal. Watched a brand new ASUS ROG suffer from boot startup speed just because of McAfee, uninstalled it and voila.

Got it right. Same thing happened here. Won't download it for free.

I work in a computer repair shop and we literally see hundreds of systems running McAfee, Norton or avast. They don't seem to do anything but slow your systems down. Personally I like and use Kaspersky Anti-virus, Bitdefender or ESET. You'll often see KAV or ESET for sale, I'd wait.

Also AVG has started to come bundled with "system optimizer" software that our malware scans always find and want to remove.

Finally a little background, Mr. McAfee sold off to Intel a few years ago but we've yet to see Intel actually do anything to improve the software. Hopefully with their resources they will but I'm not holding my breath. And Norton I believe is on their 4th CEO in 3 years or something. They're all kinds of messed up internally and their software shows the lack of leadership and general company confusion.

I won't let any of my family run any of these programs. Plenty of better options with similar deals.

Norton used to be the best. I'm using ESET and it is the best decision I've made. It's fast and safe, much better than KAV.

my understanding is that avg is pretty descent. if I remember... they are open source & provide a fully functioning albeit limited antivirus for free. beyond that they have functions you pay for. I assume you are paying for the extra functions with this. a quick search will show you that CNT, pcmag, toms, & a bunch others give avg very high scores. it is relatively easy on system performance too.
