Walked into target to buy a refill card and noticed that all the cricket stuff was under promo.

$25 Target Giftcard when you purchase any phone & refill card. June 5 thru June 11

ZTE Fanfare is $29.99 so with the giftcard, makes the phone only 5 bucks! Great for kids!

EDIT: Confirmed money maker according to thefisch! Thanks!

So in two transactions, I put $47.18 on my AMEX and have two $25 cricket cards, one $25 target GC left, and two cricket sim packs that I don't need. So I made $27.82 as I can use the cricket refill on my account. Selling the sims would add to the deal. And if I had a redcard I would have saved more
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Similar to the Best Buy deal a week ago. The Risio and Fanfare were going for $20.

Can you use the "refill" card to pay for a postpaid Cricket acct?

Seems like a winner. Going to check it out and see what phones our local Target has.

cricket is prepaid only, no?

so you need to buy a phone AND a refill card to get the $25 gc right?

Actually, looking that the picture you posted, it appears the same promo tag is on the sim cards for $10. Can you get a sim card for $10 plus a $25 cricket refill card and then get a $25 Target GC back? That would be slick - free sim and net about $15 in your pocket to spend at Target?

This may be interesting depending on what phones they have. I picked up 2 Risio's under the Best Buy deal which were free to me (actually made about $2 per phone) so I am keeping them as backups.

Also, why buy cricket refill at Target. Doesn't sales tax and 911 fee eat up any redcard savings?

Yes, I successfully refilled my existing account with the refill card I got from the previous Best Buy deal.

By the way, such thing does not exist: "post-paid Cricket acct."

Purchased $9.99 cricket sim kit and $25 cricket refill card for $36.09 ($0.40 911 fee and $0.70 tax on sim). Cashier was prompted by system to scan Target GC for $25.

I made my first purchase as back of store. On my way out, I grabbed another sim pack and checked out up front so I could use the 1st $25 GC. Same checkout process up front. I had to get back or else I could have done this all day long (or until they ran out of sim packs - there were about 10 left).

So in two transactions, I put $47.18 on my AMEX and have two $25 cricket cards, one $25 target GC left, and two cricket sim packs that I don't need. So I made $27.82 as I can use the cricket refill on my account. Selling the sims would add to the deal. And if I had a redcard I would have saved more.

This is a money maker for me.

This should be front page IMO. The Best Buy risio cricket deal was good for a free phone and make a couple of bucks. This is even better for me. Heck, BB charged sales tax on the cricket refill where Target did not.
