I opted for XPS 13 9350 with 6th Gen i5, QHD+, 256 GB SSD, 8GB RAM, Win Home for 739 + tax.

nvme ssds are expensive and I don't think 128 is enough for my usage and I don't have a need for win pro over home.

Also no 9550's in stock

Yeah - 128 GB is definitely low. I'll swap out later for a larger SSD likely around black Friday. I didn't want Windows Pro either but that was all they had when I chatted.

Normally it's ok but when I tried this morning the queue said 23 and I figured all the good stuff would be gone. A 5 minute call later and I was done with my xps 13 order.

I just sat in the queue and refreshed the link for inventory on the 9550 until one I wanted popped up. Added it to cart, then when chat person came online I gave him the asset tag and then dropped it out of cart so he could apply the $500 discount.

It looks like they don't do the price match for the recently purchased item (2 days back) which was 33% discount

I hate this chatting, very slow and very impractical.
The price I was quoted for XPS 13 touch screen, 256 SSD with an i5 cpu came to $1089 plus tax after the $500 discount, this is a horrible high price and will NEVER buy it.

Sure here you go: http://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnli...6975283289

If you don't see anything keep refreshing. This will only show inventory for the 9550 and only show items when they are available. You will need to be quick to add it to cart and refresh often.

Just bought an xps 13 6200u 256gb for $740, this is about $80 cheaper than commonly seen on ebay, so I bit. And now I regret it. On ebay with Dell refurbs you can get a Squaretrade warranty. I just learned that you cannot get one if bought through Dell Outlet.

Maybe this is common knowledge to everyone else, but they did in the past and I didn't realize they changed. Oh well.

I suspect they do it to avoid savvy people getting it for sometimes 12-15% less after cashback (like I did when I bought an Inspiron 15 in Feb). I could tell that they wanted to make that deal ineligible (you could only see it via special link, while cashback sites require you go through their link) but I found a technical way around that.

One question I have before I pull the trigger. Do the fans on this generation XPS 13 get loud often? I ask because my 1 year old Lenovo's fans are pretty distracting. They turn on during randomass times. I could be loading a page in Chrome with a few images and it'll start blowing loudly. I'm willing to resell my Lenovo and take a hit for some peace and quiet because it's getting tiring hearing the fans blow really loud.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Link's dead. Do I just go directly to Dell outlet?

I have one and it's quiet as can be. I use it for basic work (Office suite, web browsing, some video) and have no issues. I have the non-touch model that I bought 6 months ago.
