Here's a pretty good review against the Roomba and Neato.

Personally I have the Neato and love it!

Just ordered...better than Roomba 655 from Costco? Might have to return it for this, if this is truly better. Thoughts? Btw, it is $600 at target.

This unit will return home when its battery is low.

I have it and bought it when Samsung had it last year for $399.

I can only compare it to a lower level Roomba, which did not do well compared to this.

It can respectably find its way through my ~700 sq. foot apartment, but will not vacuum only my black rug. Turns out the drop sensor sees the black carpet as a fall and will not vacuum it. Otherwise, it works well and is a great deal at $199.

Please don't forget that that review is specific to one particular model/tier of the VR9000 series, the Airborne Copper tier. It somehow highlights many of the features/lack thereof that are actually specific to just the Airborne Copper, which do not apply to the other tiers in the VR9000. I'm not sure whether it's trying to be intentionally misleading or not...

For example:
  • It mentions a 10-year warranty, which is only provided on the Ebony and Airborne Copper tiers. That is NOT true for the Graphite Blue and Silver tiers, which come with only 1-year warranties. Note that this deal is for the Graphite Silver tier, which is easily the lowest out of the VR9000 series.
  • It mentions the lack of Wi-Fi connectivity, which is extremely puzzling since its VR9000 brothers in the Ebony Copper and Graphite Blue tiers do have Wi-Fi connectivity.
  • It mentions point cleaning with the remote, which is only a feature available on the top two tiers (Ebony and Airborne Copper).
etc. etc.

Edit for personal thoughts: This is still a pretty good deal though, I'm in for one. Already a happy owner of a Roomba, but one simply isn't enough for a multi-story house. Wi-fi would be nice, but it isn't a deal-breaker. And point cleaning isn't really much of a loss, considering that spot cleaning is generally required so infrequently that it shouldn't be a bother to whip out a manual vacuum to do it yourself each time. After all, robot vacuums aren't meant to completely replace those just yet...for me, the current main selling point for robot vacuums is the ability to save time and effort by doing its job without the presence of a human, so I doubt I would really be using a point-and-clean feature anyway.

Crap! Almost a hundred less than a month ago, and an extra filter! This thing rocks, and for only $200 I'm tempted to go buy another. btw it doesn't replace a full size vacuum, but does great maintenance so you don't have to hand vacuum as often. It hasn't gott stuck like my friends more expensive Roomba. In fact it seems to be very smart. It looks for places it hasn't vacuumed, so it doesn't vacuum the same spot over and over.

Man, none in my area, but I wonder if BB would PM. Worth a shot?

Edit: called BB, they were going to PM me if it was in stock, which in the last hour it was sold out in the stores that said they were available. So no go.
