I managed to get this laptop with the same setup about a month ago for $600 total refurbished from an Amazon seller. It was literally like new. There was a small, barely noticeable defect in the gray paint on the surface, so the seller offered to either swap it or refund $30. I took the refund. So total came to $570.

I really like it and didn't experience any of the out-of-box issues others have mentioned.

Decent price from Msoft store but tax might kill it.

The thing is Refurbished product is always gonna be cheaper than their new counterparts. I would say that if you can grab one with similar warranty then get one. But if you want a new one, this one is hard to beat. You will not find any other laptop at similar price point now.

I agree. I was on the fence about it, but once I noticed they were offering the same 1 yr warranty as a new one, I jumped on it.

I'm not following the math on $674 being 10% off $700, but maybe that's with whatever tax was paid.

I actually ordered this the other day using the Discover shopping portal to get 5% cash back, which is doubled in my first year, so an effective 10% discount even being well beyond my student years.

For those curious, I ordered it on Saturday, it shipped yesterday, and UPS has it scheduled to arrive tomorrow--all with the standard free shipping.

That is not really any deal breaker. There is almost zero performance difference between DDR3 and DDR4 now. The only advantage I can think of is 16GB modules are available for DDR4, providing 32GB upgrade path and I don't see any reason that people are gonna follow that path for this Ultrabook.

This is exactly what I am looking for, is this notebook upgradeable to 16GB ram? Does it have one or two slots?

One thing to be aware of is that the i13 7000 series has a single RAM slot capable of single channel only. Not a huge deal but it does affect GPU performance. Dual channel is better. Depending on the app or game, it can be much better.

It has only one module, so I think 8GB is max you can get.

Same laptop was available for 599 in April with an option to trade in your old laptop. If they do that again,
I will be all over it.
