Wax goes on very easily, looks great. The wax is not durable at all, lasts only a week or so before needing another application

How are you applying it? I have no problems with my truck and it's been almost 2 months since I applied with a buffer. Still beads right up. Bugs come off with minimal work, and the truck shines great.

I use a ton of different chemicals guys products on my truck and boat.

did you properly apply it? IE, decontaminate the paint by clay bar and or iron particle remover BEFORE applying it? If you apply it on a dirty surface then it won't adhere very well. The surface has to be free and clear of contaminates. If you want a good wax for about $20 look into Collinite 845. Nothing better IMO. I own a mobile detailing business and use that all of the time. I have used this but prefer Collinite over anything.

Besides complaints of it not lasting that long, I remember reading a bunch that dust adheres to it (They chalked it up to static charge), although one user had a recommendation of using a 2nd CG product applied on top to prevent this. Both were reasons I ended up passing on it at the end of last year. I know people loved the shine it gave though, with users saying it really did look wet. So much, that some users were willing to apply a 2nd product to make it work (without the constant dust cover). I got lazy and just got the spray CG instawax+. Shattering my heel after New Years, and not walking (or driving...right foot) for 4-5 months essentially stopped my search for a better wax. Gotta start again soon.

I couldn't believe how much iron was in the paint. Watching the paint "bleed" was insane!!

Have not tried this wax, but recently bought a bottle of meguiars nxt after reading so many positive reviews.

My new car needed paint correction, swirl marks and fine scratches, so after polish, swirl remover, finishing polish, glaze and I finished with NXT, took me total of 12 hours. Applied two coats of NXT with a dual action polisher and the finishing result was amazing.

I like CG and use some of their products, some I like, micro fiber towels, and some I would go with an alternative, was not impressed with their leather cleaner/conditioner.

I bring this up because there is no reason to settle for a product when their are so many alternatives. Autogeek is a fantastic place for anyone researching detailing products.

Yeah everyone seems to have their favorite waxes. Great mom and Pop with awesome products, they are HIghline detail shop so they know what products are good. Lucky they are by me but they also do online. Great prices also.

I haven't waxed/sealed since 2012 when I used 3 coats of Wolfgang Sealant mixed with polycharger following a total strip down of my truck: wash, clay, wash, paint correction/swirl remover, gloss, seal, seal, seal. Prep of the vehicle is key and takes the longest time. Total man hours every few years is about 22.

I bought the newer Wolfgang ceramic and applied to my wife's car and it's been going strong for 6 months so far. Their ceramic sealant is supposed to last 5 years but I don't usually believe it until I see it in action.
The detailer products costs a bit more but be had several times a year on sale.

On topic, I tried the butter wax on the front of the car from last love bug season and it was okay - didn't last long. I ended up giving it away to a neighbor who likes free things.

When you use Collinite 845, do you need to use the Collinite 840 Pre-Wax Cleaner? What does the 840 Pre-Wax Cleaner do?
