Leans somewhat left in political pieces. This is backed up by any political spectrum media analysis. Anecdotally, I have heard several sources say it has swung more to the left in the last year or so. Nothing wrong with that; just depends on what you want.

DM does not auto-renew unless you sign up for their DiscountLock program.

* Uncheck the box for the DiscountLock Program during Checkout.
* If you do sign up for it, and want to cancel it, you can do so at any time via your acct at the DM website.

Details on DiscountLock from DM Website
We do not do forced automatic renewals. For those who do not want to miss any issues, and wish to lock in the discount they got, we offer DiscountLock. If you are enrolled in DiscountLock, we will automatically renew your subscription at that the same discounted price, if available, before the end of your ordered term. This means you won’t have to worry about paying a higher price when at time of renewal and you won't have any disruption in your subscription service.

If you use PayPal for your purchase, DM (like some other vendors), will add an authorization on your account for recurring payments (although if you do not sign up for the DiscountLock program, DM will not auto-renew).

Some folks may wish to remove this from their PayPal account.

Be aware this deal was on here the first week of March. I purchased then and have yet to receive the magazine.

I've used Discount Mags before, but never had to deal with this long of a wait for a magazine...

I think some of the pieces are researched and have relevant statistics and facts to the subject at hand. Based on that I would tend to say more left leaning.

do they discuss the stats and facts of migrant rapes, illegal immigration, and black on black crime?

They have both perspectives. They have everyone from Ta-Nehisi Coates, who advocates for slave reparations, to Conor Friedersdorf, a libertarian. One of their articles [theatlantic.com] from last year was on the forefront of the pushback against what some saw as stifled free speech on college campuses.
