It depends on how much money you need to deposit for it to be a good deal. If you're only looking to deposit a little amount, this isn't too bad. Otherwise, Fidelity has good trade deals if you deposit a lump sum.

Trades usually run about $8 so you're getting $40 free. What's wrong with that? I've used this for years and really like it.

Most brokerages give 50 to 100 free trades.

Yes... With deposits of $10k or more. I just checked etrade and scottrrade and that's the qualification.

Yup - been using them for about 4-5 months. Not a robust trading platform - but simple and easy to use.

I am also looking at my place in line for 'Robinhood Instant' and I am 133,802 of 232,913 at the moment. So it seems like they have quite the following.

Yeah, I've used them. They're good. Merrill Edge is good too for 30 free trades/month if you have I think 50k in assets or 25k in cash balances (or 100 trades/month for 100k)

Robinhood is okay for standard trading, but if you are interested in having a margin account, dealing with options, having a computer/desktop site, or pre/post market trading, a different company is better
