Aldi has a 74 liter internal frame backpack for sale for a mere $25 in store.

Before the flaming begins I just want to levelset and say I'm not looking for a high quality, summit Mt. Everest type backpack.

We're taking our teenagers on an oversea trip and since they don't take of things (spoiled kids toss their iPhones around [bought by Grandma]) I don't want to invest in a more expensive Osprey, Arcteryx, Mountain Hardwear, etc pack. It just has to last 10 days.

I would love to know if any one owns or has an opinion on this.

I don't own this, but I've never had any issues with the quality of products purchased at Aldi.

Here are some vague opinions about it on Reddit:

Sounds like it would be great for a quick trip!

Is this available now or not until next week?

Something that size, that will likely be stuffed...needs to fit right.
Get it home, load it up, and have the kids walk around a bit.
Plenty of videos on youtube/rei that show how a larger pack should fit so the weight is evenly distributed between shoulders and hips.
If it fits well, it looks like a good deal.

No offense but you have to season your gear before you take it out and put it to the test unless you have a backup. Like someone else mentioned buy it ASAP try it out and if it works, great. If not... get a better known brand.

No offense. Thank you everyone for the advice. It certainly looks like a good deal if it works.

Technically next week but many stores seem to put out some of next week's stuff almost a week ahead of time. (at least in my area)

Stopped by my local Aldi today and they had the bags out. Looked pretty good for the price, but too large for my needs. I did pick up one of the hydration packs. It looks nicer than the cheap Walmart or the Quest from Dicks Sporting Goods. It's not as nice as my High Sierra day pack, but was significantly cheaper.

Wuzzy,
I have owned two of these backpacks for a year. My boys have use them both just a few times, but they are doing OK. Single stitched seems bulge as you pack the bag; be careful. Just today I found myself doing my first repair on a zipper seem.
If you don't mind having to do that once in a while, this is a great starter backpack. I am still using my bag from when I was a kid; going on twenty five years. I don't dare hold the same aspiration for these bags. I just hope they make it until they are old enough to be nearly grown. If they don't, hey, it was only $25/each.
The compartments are well proportioned. The compression straps are plentiful enough. The divider inside holds up. All in all, I am very well pleased with my purchase.
