I have a Nexus 5x and it is awesome, but I had to root it an put a custom/ROM kernel on it to get all-day+ battery life. As to accessories the USB-C form factor is 100x better than microusb because it is non directional and deeper meaning that after 6 months you aren't worrying about breaking your micro port on the phone. This is the same transition in Apple world from the old connector to the lighting connector but USB-C is SUPERIOR to lightning connector because the contacts are inside the connector not exposed to the elements. Anyone who has gotten an Apple lighting cable wet knows what I mean.

To get full fast charging the adapter that comes with the phone is USB-C to USB-C meaning you CANT plug the cable into a normal charger (USB/A) or say in your car so you have to go to Amazon or the like to get normal cables. However I just picked up 2 for $10 (Chootech Smilie) w/ resistor for fast charging) and for the car (which wasn't necessary) Aweeekey Smiliefor $18 which charges in full speed. I can put the phone in at like 15% and ten minutes later it's 45% charged. Amazing.

So NOTE, you only need USBA/USBC cables to charge ($5 each) with regular wall warts but it will charge the battery at the speed of the wall wart you had not the rapid charging that comes with the LG wall wart.

Notes of the phone I have found are:

1. The basic Nexus marshmallow does not provide a full day of battery power and maybe 4 hours of SOT. Lag has gone away mostly now If you ROM/Elemental you can easily get a full day and no lag.
2. The screen is nowhere near as sharp or nice as new flagships and is LCD BUT this phone is half the price and after a week I don't notice the difference.
3. The screen ratio is poor. My kid has a LG G3 which the screen looks humongous compared to the N5x and about the same body size.
4. RAM - 2 GB. Huge mistake here. Apps will cycle through but this should have been at least 4 GB. I find it a minor annoyance.
5. Fingerprint scanner. This is what makes it the best phone I ever had. You cant imagine the time savings this has and how fast it is. The benefit is that I use Lastpass and fingerprinting automatically 2FA for quick and secure logins. The N6p has the same FP scanner.
6. Camera - People get picky about this, but with the newest camera app this thing takes better pictures than my wifes iphone 6s and the HDR+ is frickin awesome and fast. There is NO phone in this price range that has that good of a camera. She is a camera snob and will grab my phone to take kid pictures. Dont listen to the haters here.
7. Band support. Since this is pure Nexus it supports 100% all the US bands (and Canadian if that matters) and full carrier integration on the big 4 meaning things like wifi calling and VOLTE just work. I have had this phone on all 4 carriers, not a problem. I settled on Tmobile, but that is a personal decision. Wifi calling and VoLTE work like a champ. This supports TMO band 12 (long range LTE) without issue. If you are looking for a phone your FIRST thing should be carrier support and band support, because if you actually want to USE your phone, if it doesn't support the bands or features of your carrier, a fancy screen or processor doesn't really help much.

While the RAM and screen are the two weakest pieces for the price I paid ($250) and for Google monthly updates I can't think of a better Android phone, even to this day.

Controversial: Qi charging (Nexus 5x does not have wireless charging)

This is highly personal, but I had the Nexus 4-6 which had Qi charging and I will say even with a 3 pad Qi charger every couple of days the N6 would be blistering hot from me not putting it in the exact correct position. I found MY major reason was that when I went to bed in a dark room that putting it on the pad was easier because I didn't have to fiddle w/ the usbmicro positioning and direction. HOWEVER w/ USB-C it is larger and so easy to put it in any direction (and way faster to charge) that I have found I don't miss my wireless charging AT ALL anymore. I have no problems plugging it in and in fact it is much easier than plugging in than an Apple lighting cable (for my istuff). The only connector I find superior is the Apple mag connector.

Seems like a great deal. Wonder if it will drop lower before Nexus 5x 2016 comes out (assuming it does again in September). Not in a rush, would be buying this as a gift for mom who is currently rocking an iPhone 4S.

Know a few people that have a Nexus 5x and love them. This is about the best deal I've seen so far on the Nexus 5x. This is also the third deal I've seen in about 3 days, so I'm wondering if an announcement is about to happen that vendors are starting to clear stock

it is $250 for 32GB from Google Fi, plus $20 voice and $10 data. This is about the same, without hassle of cancellation.

Got an open box from the Buydig deal for $212. Everything is working fine. What problems should I be looking for? Cant tell why someone would send this back. It was a girl because it smells like perfume. Only issue was the sim card tray tool was missing.

One disappointment is the overall size. Not as compact as I had hoped. Massive top and bottom bezels really stretch the length of this phone out. Kind of a bummer, phone feels kind of tall for its capabilities.

Button placement is pure feces and its hard to pick up, use and hold the phone with the way the buttons are oriented. That should improve once I put Ballistic case on they always have solid buttons to avoid accidental push.
