Wild Planet Wild Albacore Tuna, No Salt Added, 5 Ounce Can (Pack of 12) - $30.66
http://www.amazon.com/Wild-Planet...B001SB8AZC
Decent deal on this kind of *Albacore* Tuna (Many prefer Albacore over the Slipjack).

Comes to $2.55/can (normally ~$3.99 or more per can at Safeway)

If you have 4-5 items in your S&S queue on Amazon, you get 15% off on the $36 price.

*People that are TDing. You haven't even tried this or bought this in the past - it's nothing like Bumblebee or Chicken of the Sea.*

it's a good deal, move on if you don't know what you're taking about.

that must be some incredible tuna to pay $2.50 per can for it

bumblebee regular tuna 5 ounce can is 50 cents on sale at publix (in 4 packs) and about all I can afford

With what goes on in the seafood business, can we even be sure that it's tuna? You have about a 70-80% chance that the tuna you buy at the grocery store or the sushi restaurant is something else.

The photos indicate it has salt so not sure where the "no salt" comes from..

nice try but doesnt make sense as you imply apples to oranges, more like Nathan's vs Oscar Mayer if you want to compare hot dog brands. You get what you pay for in this case or cars we could go Kia vs BMW. List goes on.

I don't know if it is worth the cost but these are 1 big chunk of fish instead of just a bunch of tiny scraps.

That's what I said in another thread. At least those were packed in EVOO.

You must eat the bar s hot dogs I eat the beef hot dogs so it makes sense when I compare bumblebee tuna mush to a big hunk of wild planet tuna same as hot dog mush to a steak

Nope, I buy Nathan's. More expensive but its kosher. Yes, bar s and OM is all garbage. This is "pole caught" tuna, so there is more work involved, hence the price and yes, the safety of living things by not using nets.

Go to a grocery store butcher dept (probably higher end grocery store) and buy your own raw slab cut of tuna. Make your own. FRESHHHHHHHHH

It is incredible tuna. Different look and taste completely better nutritional profile, so they say. More Omega-3s "younger" and pole and troll caught, not by nets so "sustainable" - so they claim. .

Also, Blumble Bee ALBACORE is not 50 cents a can. Sorry. No.

Pretty much. This is a different fish than Chicken of the Sea, BumbleBee, etc. Barf.

"We place hand-cut sashimi grade tuna steaks in each can, retaining all the natural juices and Omega 3 oils, without adding any liquid. This is 100% pure tuna and sea salt so there is never any need to drain. An exception to this method is our tuna packed in extra virgin olive oil."
