No you did not, you got the LGUH7700
Pretty sure that's a scam website
They also sell the 65ef9500 OLED for $2,739
So it's a bait and switch site

Whereas the PC Richards is not

Looks like best price around by a good margin, but there aren't many reviews.

Since it is an IPS panel, I'd expect slightly more lag and worse contrast, but better viewing angles than something like a Samsung VA panel. Passive 3D and Dolby Vision support are two stand outs, if that's what floats your boat. Weakest point is going to be black levels, definitely.

I missed the 65" 8500 that was available last week for 1585. How does this compare? Is it worth the extra 400?

After doing a little research the 8500 is a much better deal. so mad i missed it when it was 1585 a week ago.

How does this compare to Samsung's JS9000/9500 and new KS 8000/8500 which are in the same ballpark of price?

Can you post where you read that?
From the research i've done, the main differences are 9500 has 3 layer IPS screen vs 2 on 8500, but I dont know what the advantage is.
Also, the picture engine on the 9500 is called "Tru-4K Enginer Pro" as opposed to "Super Mastering Enginer" on the 8500.
From a comment i read on amazon, the 9500 does produce a sharper picture compared side by side, but they went onto mention that 8500 was also a very nice TV.

The question regarding the extra cost for upgrade, i think that's really up to the buyer.
I'm curious to find out why the above poster thinks the 8500 is a much better deal.
Not doubting his/her comment, but I want to be convinced as well, so I can jump on the 8500 next time it comes up, instead of this deal.

Thank you in advance!
