Oops just got one a week ago for $249. Oh well for those wondering it's been both fun and practical. I've found a few leaks in the AC duct work in the attic, plenty of hot spots where insulation was missing or moved out of place in the house and shop. The kids love playing with it at night hunting for animals at night and "tracking" each other's barefoot steps. Definitely do not regret the purchase.
just a quick note. the more important temperature measure is the -4°F to 248°F (-20° to 120°C) scene temperature range. This is how it determines the gradient for colors. the operating temp means you shouldn't leave it in the sun/desert or in the freezer/snow when using it.
Resolution as in temperature range or sensor size? Maybe this will help:

FLIR's module is a 160 x 120 sensor.
Seek has similar flir-like module with a 206 x 156 Thermal Sensor.

ETA: The Seek has a wider temperature range it seems.

As an FYI:
FLIR's module is a 160 x 120 sensor.
Seek has similar flir-like module with a 206 x 156 Thermal Sensor.

Pixel to pixel, Seek may have a better module but have not seen them compared.

I bought one of these a few years ago for this price, then they raised it to $249 . Creat concept (using the phone hardware for processing and viewing screen . Howver, for my needs, the resolution is inadequate. I had hoped that had come up with a newer model that had better resolution by now.
