Bought the 7 footer MH actions last time.

The Samurai X models are 2 piece. The Samurai model is 1 piece. Just in case people are looking for different kinds.

I've never been fishing. these are good for kids? or just go to goodwill, however goodwill usually is without the reel. which one the better deal?

I have a similar question. Does this have everything I need (besides lure) for a quick fishing trip with the kids?

i bought them last time. one 6ft other 5ft 6inch. my daughter 11yr uses the smaller one. its ok but the zip-tie knot bothers her palm a little but that specific to the rod i bought.

Got this deal awhile back. It's only the reel & rod (no line or tackle). Perfect for the kids to practice casting. And if it breaks, it won't break the bank (mine are in great shape after quite a few fishing trips)

This is a great price for entry level setup. These are low end but not bad by any means. As an avid fisherman I would never use these for my personal setup but I would have no problems having a couple of these to loan out if I bring a non fishermen out on the boat.

I bought these last time, and it is very important that everyone knows THERE IS NO FISHING LINE ON THE REELS. A somewhat minor inconvenience, but I assume most people who are interested just want to grab and go.

I called online customer service and my local store and got different responses as to whether any of these combos are one-piece versus two-piece. According to the online customer service some of the combos are one-piece, but they weren't sure which ones. My local store said that all the combos are two-piece. Does anyone who's bought these combos know definitively whether these combos are all two-pieces?

I would advise against spinning reels for kids. They take a bit of skill to avoid tangling the line. Look for a closed face reel setup. You can find the complete set up at Walmart for pretty cheap.
