These reels are pretty smooth for the money. Was about to order it for 39.99 for their fathers day sale.... (normally about 45 bucks on sale)

Today I saw it had a online only sale for 29.99

I'm ordering 3 more.

I have gone to the store and had them price match online prices at customer service. So that's an option too.

I still have 2 50 dollar gift cards I bought off ebay for 40 each.

Sucks but I need a coupon because I don't have any valid 20 off 100 coupons at the moment.

If anyone has an extra one. I'd appreciate the help.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I was just about to post this. Picked up two, plus one of the shimano stradic Ci4+ ... Using the gift cards I bought from eBay ($85 for $100 x2) on Friday, which were delivered today. Added a $20 off $150 coupon I got in the mail last week and shipped to store.

All told I paid $199 for the 3 reels. Would've been $360 regularly.

I want a stradic also but I just bought another loomis IMX rod. So I better calm down on fishing gear for a bit.

I have 2 x 50 gift cards (40 each on ebay I got maybe a month or two ago)

inlaw just sent me a coupon on 20 off 150 also. So I have to figure out what I want to buy when I go there later.

Probably buy 3 of these and keep 2 as backups. I fish probably 200 plus days a year so I go thru gear pretty quick.

Guess it depends on what kind of fish you will go for. What rods you use and what line you use.

I will either get a 1500 or 2000 to go on my 6 ft loomis mag light rod. Mainly will fish 4 or 6lb line for panfish like bluegills, crappie and ocassionally white bass.

Might get a bigger 2500 or so and load it up with 10 to 20 lb braid for when we go wiper and striper fishing. That reel will go on my st croix 6 ft 3 medium lite eyecon rod.

These dang fishing deals are going to bankrupt me. No wonder I'm always itching to get out of work to go fish. Thanks for the info, OP - I bought a couple of Whuppin' Sticks to get ready for the Legalis and an Okuma I haven't fished with yet.

This is a decent reel. I bought one a few months back and it was nice, but within a month I had weird noises coming from it. I had a 1 year warranty through my local fishing store. They were sold out of these, but they let me exchanged it for a Shimano Sedona. This is a good deal tho. They usually sell for $50+.

Any input on this reel or the black max deal that popped up last week? Looking to get a new spinning setup. I've got plenty of rods but can always use more so really comes down to which reel is "better". Thoughts?

Isnt the abu black max a bait caster?

Anywho.

For a cheap (50 dollar range or less) reel...

I have had great luck with pfleuger presidents (6925 was on sale 3 months ago for 29.99. Snagged a few.

Little heavier but very smooth and durable.

I bought the legalis 1500 today and put it on my loomis imx 6 ft mag light. Feels balanced. Decent. Id rate it a littlw below the president.

Yeah the link in that post was to a baitcaster but there was a similar deal on a spinning combo. Link Here. [dickssportinggoods.com]

Thanks for the input. Where did you pick your president up at for $30?

Which size would be best for trout? (Rainbow, Brook, maybe Lake)

Thanks!
