First post, go easy....

Home Depot's in Oklahoma City have the Ridgid 18v cordless sander for $35 (50% off).

They were giving these out with a Gen5X combo purchase a couple of months ago, looks like they are trying to move the inventory left over from that deal. I saw this price in 2 Home Depot's in OKC last night. If you didn't get one with the combo purchase (I purchased the Gen5X combo when it first became available) and have use for a cordless sander it's a good deal. It's "tool only" so if you don't already have Ridgid batteries then you would have to purchase separately.

Price is in store only like most Home Depot deals (online shows full price).

They are 50% off if you by a stealth driver, or cordless nailer.

Tempting, but I have a couple of corded versions and don't see a whole lot of benefit to a battery powered one, especially if hooked up to dust collection anyways, which is often preferrable. Why are you guys going cordless?

I have multiple corded sanders as well, but figured it will be useful for quick sanding jobs and/or instances when dragging out the extension cord can be avoided. I agree that if you're planning on having a sander hooked up to a shop vac or dust collector then you might was well have it plugged in. I was on the fence @ $70 but @ $35 my tool addiction will not let me walk away from it.

i saw these at my HD in the clearance section, started with like 20 of them. they did not discount it much so I didnt pay much mind. so it's probably pretty wide spread. my store will probably drop the price again soon

This doesn't come with a battery correct? Do you know what battery/charger we need?

Really really gimped. Lasts only 3.5 to 4 minutes on a charge. Returned mine after a day of frustration.
I get more than that with the 4.0 ah battery.

What size battery are you using?

If you're using the small compact 1.5ah batteries, I wouldn't expect much on a sander in the highest speed

Same at the two closest stores to me. I'll pick one up at $35 but not any sooner. Especially if the battery life isn't long.
