Not very efficient either: 100W equivelent/1600 lumens consuming 20W = 5x W efficiency/ 80 lumens per watt. Decent 60 watt LEDs producing 800 lumens are now consuming 8 watts; making them 7.5x W efficency (50% better)/100 lumens per watt (25% better)

Cost still at $5 a bulb; you can do much better pairing 2x 60 watt bulbs with an adapter at $2 a bulb. Plus these are daylight and not the color temp most people would want in their homes which most prefer 3000K or even 2700K for those liking really warm light.

This is my math--I don't see any 100W eq cheap enough to justify them over two 60W eq, not to mention efficiency.

How do the Y adapters work though? I can't seem to find a cheap one with decent reviews.

Oh and my wife and I like the 4000k or 5000k bulbs, they just look clean to us!

I forget the brand, it was a nobody, but Wal-Mart has two packs of 20w equivalent LED builds for $4.88, not sale nor clearance.

Around $2 at most home improvement stores. I find them for 25c-50c at thrift stores.

Typical spots:
$1.75 @ Menards:

$2.48 @ Home Depot:

$2.68 @ Lowes

Or 99 cents shipped via ebay (search for something like "dual Light bulb socket adapter") May be cheaper if you use different search terms?

Polaroid warranty is worthless. I tried to get them to replace a 60w I bought at Maynards that constantly flickers after only 6 months of use, and they keep ignoring me.

I'll second the low quality comment, I have some polaroid LED flood light bulbs, and 2 out of 5 have failed. They require a store receipt for warranty replacement.
