Excuse my ignorance, but could someone from the the PC Master Race explain Response Time, please?

This initially looks like a great deal but a Response Time of 7ms is not great for fast moving stuff, like gaming or even movie watching, correct? I'm looking for lower response time, like 5 or even 2ms?

Thanks!

Yes, 2ms or 1ms is good for gaming. This monitor is mainly for color accuracy, 179-180 deg viewing angles, and aimed towards 3D / drawing artists.

Granted though, if you're not playing FPS or fighting games a lot or professionally, it doesn't matter much at that point.

for IPS, 5ms seems to be the most common. you typically only see 1ms or 2ms in TN or VA panels (at least the monitors I would be willing to pay for)... 7ms is a bit slow.

I just hooked up this new monitor!

So far it looks amazing, haven't played any games yet.

Not really an upgrade, my Dell U2311H died.

Will update soon.

7ms is not really a problem for gaming.

Bought two. Great display for the money. 23" display @ 1080p is just fine. Don't overthink it too much. Anything larger than 25" @ 1080p I would avoid. Sturdy stand, adjustable tilt, fine tune controls. 7ms response time doesn't seem any different from my 5ms Viewsonic LED. Nice matte screen and good viewing angle. Can't really think of any cons concerning this display especially because they are only < $100.

picked 1.
pros: sleek, silver finish stands, easy t o assemble, no bezel to reflect any, matte finish.

cons: lots of light bleeding from differnt edges n sections, blacks r not true black as led lights are mixed up.

i have 2 monitors dell s24 series n this one. comparing both side by side (playing same video)... i found HP 23es to have better colors but video was not sharp. tested both vga n hdmi. my test material was planet earth 1080p
