I've searched previous posts & I don't see this deal listed - this is my 1st deal posting so please excuse anything important that I forgot to mention...

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-.../202687758

Advertised for $99 for in-store pick-up or online free shipping - I got this combo kit today in-store for $89 after I used a 10% off Lowe's coupon competitor match. They just brought it out from a pallet so apparently it's a new combo kit that includes:

a 12" string trimmer/edger (model P2006A)
a blower/sweeper (model P2102)
a quick charger (model P118)
1 mid capacity battery (model P105 - 48Wh)

I tried it on my fairly large yard & both worked fine. Luckily I had other Ryobi batteries available since I had to swap out the trimmer's battery 2x for about 40 min run time total & the blower was fine on 1 battery for 20 min. I thought that the blower was a little weak but it does OK blowing all the grass clippings & dirt off the sidewalks & driveway. I didn't try the edger function on the trimmer so no comment there yet.

Happy shopping!

If anyone is in NJ and wants this package, but doesn't want the trimmer, let me know and maybe we can work out a deal.

The one gotcha for me is the cost of the string (pre wound bobbins) for the string trimmer. I don't think you can wind your own... You have to buy expensive pre wound bobbins. If someone knows different please correct me.

I bought this set last year and it is decent, not awesone but good. I do very little trimming and it works, I imagine if you did a lot of trimming u might not like it. the blower is fine for clearing garage floor or driveway, but it will not do piles of leaves

I would bet you can wind your own, I have another brand and you can with it. Unless you're doing very light yard work I would go with a 40v.

Dont get this. There is another combo with a better blower and it has the jet design. Its $160 when it goes on sale.

I like battery for quickie n small yard. No gas oil to mix(2 cycles) and no bad fumes.

Can you let me know the model number or the link of the better set that periodically goes on sale?

I have this very trimmer. I have had it for 2 seasons. I got it from a refurbished tool store.
I love it. It works great. I bought 2 of the biggest MAH batteries available for ryobi.
The smallest batts last for about half of my yard. I live in a small-ish 1000 sq ft house with a 75 x 75 completely fenced-in back yard. The biggest batts will do the shole thing.

You can definitely wind the bobbin yourself. The prewound bobbins are just for convenience.
I even wound it once with 0.095 instead of the required 0.065 just because I ran out of the correct size. It worked but vibrated and ran slower due to the weight of the line.

I would give this trimmer 5 stars...and I am a the handyman that all my friends and family call to do work on houses and cars, ect.
I am not a contractor...but I am just a notch below.
