Just an FYI I'm not a gamer and am building this for someone else but I got an email from AMD rewards and if you buy this you get Total War Warhammer for free (Steam Download) which is apparently a $60 value so this is good if you are planning on that game anyways.

Until AMD gets with the times and puts PCI Express 3.0, they just can't compete imo.

what are the tangible benefits for everyday and power users of PCI 3.0?

8 GHZ vs 5 GHZ base clock speed
1 GB/s vs 500MB/s data rate
32 GB/s vs 16 GB/s bandwidth
8 GT/s vs 5 GT/s Data Transfer rate.

Just no reason that AMD doesn't have PCI 3.0 on their boards (except for some FM2 boards that only support the inferior A10 vs the FX processors) when almost all AMD graphics cards are built on PCI 3.0 arch.

Yes PCI 3.0 and 2.0 (and 1.1) are fully backwards compatible but that isn't the point.

Edit: Pci E 3.0 has been finalized since November 18, 2010. There is no reason in 2016 that a new FX processor and board shouldn't have it and is the reason I will be buying intel (devils canyon probably) over any FX processor.

Such a nice deal. If you are gaming it is comparable to a 6600k, money saved is best spent on a better GPU! I really wish i had a need for a second computer. Or even knew someone I could help make one.

I love going to Microcenter. Actually maybe not I can't help buying random things they have on sale there. The prices are so cheap it is like an online store in the flesh. Nothing like going to a store and seeing computer cases in the flesh. Made my last build all from parts there except for the CPU cooler. I just love that place.
