Additional Tip for new Target REDcard members: If you signup today for Target REDcard (Free Target debit card linked to your checking account, no fees), it will tell you that you'll need to wait for your new card to arrive in the mail before using it. I just signed up today and then called to see if I can use the card today in order to get the REDcard discounts. They had me complete my online order with my normal credit or debit card at full price, then they manually applied the 20% off (received refund of diff ($70) via email confirmation while I was on the phone with support).

No.. they have a Target REDcard Debit card (just links to your checking account). You get 5% savings on everything, everyday.. Also you get free shipping @ Target.com and 30 additional days for returns.

or also a REDcard credit card (yes you'd have to apply for this one). You get 5% savings, free shipping, and 30 day returns using the credit card as well.

To get the 20% discount online, yes, you need the Target Red Card credit card or debit card.

In store, you can get 15% off with just their free-to-use Cartwheel app, but to get the additional 5% off, you'd need to use a Red Card again.

No, you can have it linked to your checking account. it's like a 2nd debit card, but can only be used at Target, and regularly gets you 5% off, other times more discounts

Correct.. I signed up for one today and then called Target support to see if I can use it today in order to get the discount. They said yes they can manually apply the REDcard discounts (15% off PS4 promo + additional 5% off REDcard discount) for me while I was on the phone with them. They had me complete order using my normal (non Target) debit or credit card and then I provided the agent my order ID, then he applied discounts and I received the 20% off discount while still on the phone with him. I received the refund email confirmation for $70 while on the phone with him. Hope this helps..

If you can stack the in-store cartwheel with a registry discount this would be hot. I did the same back in November for ~$260 OTD

Edit: wait for E3 announcements as another user mentioned, the timing of this is suspect, retailers are probably aware of the new model, etc
