It's funny how times have changed. I could careless about color coordinating my components and having a side window. I'm a guy. Next thing you know guys will be picking out an outfit so they can match their computer while playing doom. LOL

For the price, I think this is good. I'm not sure how good the motherboard is and of course the ram could be faster, but overall this combo seems to be good for the price. Of course I would spend $40 for a good aftermarket cooler.

Seems like an ok deal. Factoring CA tax it's a bit cheaper than getting a 6700k, Z170 mobo and 16gb ddr4 from microcenter, but about the same if you buy the CPU from MC and the mobo from newegg separately, then spend ~$50 on ddr4 anywhere.

Except that ram, ughh. Why pick red ram to bundle with an all black mobo. I was planning on building in my S340 (black/blue) and I don't know if I can deal with that ram/mobo combo.

Thinking about selling my i5 3570k and getting this (although I'm assuming i'd have to purchase Windows 10 again. Is this fast of a processor important for 4k gaming? (I would be using Dolphin as well). I also plan on getting a gtx 1080 when they're in stock.

FYI, newegg review on the bundled MB:

"The description overview shows that this is the SLI Plus version of the Z170A, however (the keen observer would notice) it's the non-plus version."

I have a windowless sound insulated antec case so the ram could be purple and I wouldn't care. laugh out loud

If Dolphin is the Wii emulator that I googled, there supposedly is minimal difference between i5 and i7 because it does not use more than 3 cores. For 4k PC Gaming, yes get the 6700k for down the road. For Wii emulation gaming, if you feel like you will do PC gaming or have use for i7 then get it. Uses like heavy multitasking, video encoding, recording gameplay, etc would allow the i7 to shine.

If your Win10 key is OEM (came installed on computer) it can not be transferred. If retail (came/bought separately) then you can transfer it. Google will be your friend.

I know right! Next we know guys will have things called "feelings" and they might realize that there's more to life than being macho and putting down those who aren't part of your macho crew. "Guys" do the exact same thing when they want to drive nice cars around. They do the exact same thing when they dress up for a date, event, what have you. I don't care about a lot of things (like side windows), but I do care if someone tries to force me to do what they like. Ridicule something worth the time and effort.

Make fun of the Americans who blindly let their government use 16.6 trillion tax payer dollars to fund upper echelon bonuses and compensation packages for the big banks. Make fun of the girl who rear ended someone at 100+ mph because she was busy playing with the snap chat speed filter, or how she still didn't learn her lesson by snap chatting herself in the ambulance "lucky to be alive". Hell, make fun of the New Zealand prime minister for getting a literal dildo thrown at his face on live TV. That's hilarious, and he just laughed it off.

When for the same price you can pick which mobo/ram you want and therefore what your mobo/ram looks like, yeah, for real.

This is an ok deal if you do not have a microcenter near you, but the 6700k has been $289 there. Although they are cleaned out of Z170 mobos right now, that should still end up being a better deal.

The other issue is that the geil ram is rather tall so some mobo and cooler combinations might not work, so be aware. I could barely fit my ddr3 ripjaws under my Hyper 212+ fan(s) for example.
