if you need a cooler and don't mind rebates. the 212 evo is a beast at this price. buy an extra fan for push pull configuration.

Can't stand rebates, some companies honor them others don't. Had one take 6 months another making up excuses how all the "proper" paperwork wasn't provided.

Paid $37 out of necessity for 212 EVO. Worth every penny. Will upgrade to AIO liquid cooling for overclock of 6700k past 4.4 GHz, but it hasn't let me down, especially when paired with Arctic Silver thermal paste.

I didn't find it particularly difficult to install, but I do recommend experience with installing CPU coolers. You must have access to the backside of the mobo to install the Hyper 212 Plus, so, in the majority of situations, this means installing the cooler before installing the mobo in the case. This is GIGANTIC! Make sure that you have sufficient clearance for it. It is an awesome cooler, and I highly recommend it.

Newegg has always honored the dozens of rebates that I've submitted. Follow the instructions, submit it within the allotted timeframe with all proper forms, invoice, and UPCs, and you'll have no issues. Saying this, expect a full twelve (12) weeks to receive your rebate CHECK (they ALWAYS send a check, regardless if it says card). Make copies of every form, and the sheet with the UPCs, that you submit to keep for your records, in case there is an issue.

if you're running a stock CPU fan on just about anything then buy this. it's very quiet. just make sure your case can clear the size of the heatsink.

This is the Plus, not the Evo but both are pretty much the same with the Evo having slightly better performance.

ah, thanks for the clarification I didn't notice that detail. evo is epic. idk about the plus. none the less this cooler would be perfectly fine for an i3, or a non max overclock i5/i7.

This was the default cooler in my rigs since 2012. I'm surprised that it isn't cheaper considering its age (it was $10ar at microcenter). It is very quiet, includes the mounting hardware for push-pull configuration, and cools very well. The 212 Evo has a smoother contact pad where it touches the CPU lid, hence that cooler's slightly better performance.

Beware as this cooler will give clearance issues for many configurations: If your ram has big heatsinks or if you're using an itx case, for example. (both applied to me). I couldn't close the lid on my 250d case.

If you need a lower profile Cooler Master CPU heatsink, Newegg also has the Hyper T2 for $12 AR and the Hyper T4 for $15 AR.
