How does my card compare?

This card is a bad buy. New cards using 14nm FinFET [yahoo.com] are going to be released at the end of the month at the $100, $150, and $200 price points. There should be a drastic shift in prices as these older generation 28nm cards are surpassed in performance by lower priced offerings. Unless you need a card TODAY, wait for the newer card offerings [pcworld.com].

The specific card coming out that you might want instead of this is the AMD RX 460, which, based on current (limited) info, appears to be a bit faster and notably more efficient than the GTX 950 at about this price. It is "released" at the end of June, but depending on supply could be hard to find for a month or 2.

This generation of Nvidia cards perform relatively poorly in DrectX12 games and will only see further performance degradation as newer games begin using DirectX12 and Nvidia ceases to tweak its drivers for the previous generation.

If you're willing to put off for a bit, the RX 470 and 460 were just announced at E3, and if the RX 480 performance claims are even remotely true, the 470 and 460 may be worth waiting for, if not at least for the price drops.

I would say it is best to stay away from most current graphics cards unless these are pretty much free Smilie

Just the benefits of vastly improved power efficiency of upcomings graphics cards should be considered at the time of purchasing current vs upcoming GPUs

I don't think this will ever be free. My current gaming card is radeon hd4600. This card will be discontinued before it's even $10 cheaper.

I'm planning on handing down my 960 to someone when I get a 1070 so it would be free for them. For a true SD'er free is always an option...

I'll put you as #2 on the list in case my #1 dies in between now and then or something.

I've been rockin' an ATI RADEON HD 2400 Pro for a few MANY years now.. I don't do any gaming, just watch a lot of movies on multiple displays (HDMI & DVI), and recently I got back into photo editing (Photoshop)... with the latest Win10 updates, my display driver got messed up (ATI officially doesn't support Win10 for my video card), I reverted the update and now some apps won't work (Calculator, Photos)... My options are to revert back to Win7 -or- upgrade my video card..... since my household has a bunch of other Win10 Lenovo Yoga laptops that I network, file & printer share with, I want to keep my desktop on Win10... Thanks for this post, I'm going to give this video card a try! For $99, it's too good of a deal to pass up on!

i think i need to change my vidcard sooner than I would have liked. I have msi gtx 760 and it gives me fits with Rocket League on anythign but Performance setting. If I put it higher the game crashes my system. I don't know why, the temps are not the problem as I put hwmonitor on mys econd screen and watch it as I play it doesn't get over 70-75C.

It looks like ass on Performance though, I may have to go back to playing on my neglected PS4 instead

This is a great card , and I bought it for 130 about 2 months ago to put into my editing rig which I use for gaming as well. Runs pretty much all current games on medium to high settings
