STARTS TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY 6-15-16
T-Mobile link, http://www.t-mobile.com/internet-...-x-80.html

Just posted first impression,
http://slickdeals.net/f/8839599-t-mobile-lg-g-pad-x-8-0-free-almost-39-20-out-of-pocket-fathers-day-promo?v=1&p=86153975&posted=1&comment=success#post86153975

Update 2:00PM Ca time. Had the local store hold 2 for me. Just picked them up. The store sold all their stock already and people are still asking for these. You'll probably have to order these via phone or online to get the deal. Good luck.

Got a email from my T-Mobile rep today and verified it with my local T-Mobile store. Starting tomorrow existing customers can get the new LG G Pad X 8.0 for free (almost). Add a data line and pay "$10/mo. x 24 mos. (easy payment plan) Existing customers that add a line will pay half price on the new line. I'm currently using the G Pad F I got for free last fathers day with the same promotion. (only pay $10 a month for 2gb LTE service)
Right now they're having $130 off most of their tablets. Starting tomorrow (Fathers day promotion) you only pay the extra line charge and get the tablet for free. The lowest monthly charge is $10 for existing customers.
T-Mobile will mail you a visa card for the full amount of the tablet in about 6-8 weeks. Pay off the tablet with the card and you can either keep the service or cancel and use the tablet over wifi only.
Over view:
-pay taxes on the tablet retail price of $240 ($19.20 for my county)
-instead of charging you a sim card fee they charge you a activation fee of $20. My local store will waive the fee for me (verified with employee at my local store. YMMV on your negotiating skills)
-pay $10 easy payment plan for phone for 2 months
-pay $10 a month for 2gb LTE service for 2 months
-receive $240 visa card and pay off tablet
$240 cost of tablet
$220 owed after 2 months
$240 visa card- $220 = $20 left over
$59.20 out of pocket for 2 months service & taxes - $20 left on card = $39.20 total for LG G Pad X 8.0

I plan on getting 2 of these and will sell my 1 year old G Pad F to recoup my out of pocket costs, cancel one line of service and use one as wifi only tablet around the house.

The LG G Pad X 8.0 is a upgraded version of the G Pad F. You can compare the 2 tablets at http://www.phonearena.com/phones/....0_id10098. This is a new model and limited stock at my local store. If you lag, you might have to have it shipped to you vs having instant gratification.

Is a T-Mobile rep on chat, twitter dm, or facebook messaging telling you to use the Device Unlock app to unlock your tablet? Prove to them that it doesn't work with the following links:
Quote from Technosquid View Post :
PDF: https://1drv.ms/b/s!Ao57UVyeZk2OhCPJsdt32X5lIlzB (sorry about the below average scan quality)
Voicemail audio: https://clyp.it/rglrsczp
Here's an example how the email looks like when you get the unlock code:

NOTE: If you got the wrong instruction the unlock sim code might still works. You just have to change 2945#*521# the last set of three number to 521. You have 3 attempts to unlock if you test it once due to the wrong instruction I would contact T-Mobile Support again to have them fix it. Another user has 2945#*496# but his unlock code still works.

Email from: ARSystem Notify DoNotReply@T-Mobile.com

T-Mobile Sim Unlock Request
Sim Unlock Reference: 103xxxxx3
IMEI: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Unlock Code: 577919038280XX11
NOTE: Code has been used don't attempt to test it.

Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. Below you will see the Instructions for unlocking your LG device.

NOTE: If you receive an error message while performing the instructions below, stop. Please be aware that if an excessive amount of incorrect attempts are made, the phone will be permanently locked.

1. Insert a non-T-Mobile SIM card, then turn on the tablet.
2. When the Lock screen displays, enter your 16-digit Mobile Device Unlock code.
3. If the Lock screen does not display:
1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
2. Tap Contacts.
3. Tap the Search contacts field.
4. Enter 2945#*521#.
5. Tap the Add contact + icon in the top-right.
6. Tap Network Lock.
Enter your 16-digit Mobile Device Unlock code.
4. 'SIM Network Unlock Successful' message displays.
5. Wait for the tablet to automatically restart.
6. Your tablet is now unlocked.

Thank You,

XDA Forum for this Tablet: http://forum.xda-developers.com/l...o-t3400620 - There is a section detailing how unlock was achieved.

DEVICE UNLOCK
They will ask you to run the unlock the app which does not run on this tablet and if they send you the unlock codes they are incorrect codes.
Guys dont waste time with these idiots, the only way to get these monkeys to do anything is to file an FCC claim. Those twitter guys are another set of monkeys, they dont know anything better as you can read from multiple posts in this thread.
You will be doing yourself and the society in general a favor by filing complaints with FCC (takes less than 5 minutes).

REBATE STATUS
If you see Denied and the message below that says "Ignored Line" that is not a rejection. That means TMobile has consolidated this amount with another rebate and is going to send you a single prepaid card for all the amounts. If you have hard time believing this, you can call them and ask the amount for the approved rebate. Hope this will prevent unnecessary repeated questions

Fixes To LG G Pad X 8.0 V521WG (T-Mobile) Tablet SD Micro Card Expansion Usage Issue For Android OS App - AppMgr III
Goal: Why can't you make your SD Micro card to work with like popular AppMgr III (a SD Android app to move apps to SD card to save space) or other SD Mover Android apps?? And why does it said it was supported for SD Micro up to 128GB such as the SanDisk SD Micro card 128GB or the 200GB?

Why didn't work and the app doesn't do a great job of explaining the reason why. This is because even though your Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow see it and you can format it but it see it as a "Portable Storage" SD card and not as a Internal Storage.

Credits for finding the information after hours of hunting for them and gathering them into one spot to fix this SD Micro card storage issue.
Credits goes to Paul O'Brien @Modaco.com | Blake Stimac @ Greenbot.com | Chris Hoffman @ HowToGeek.com | Sam Lu (Developer for AppMgr III |

Simple Quick Steps and How To:
1). Unlock Android OS by going to Menu option> SYSTEM> About Tablet> Software Info> Tap with finger 5 to 7 times on the Build Number version to Unlock it. You will be prompted with "No need, you are already a developer."
2). Go to Menu Settings> Developer options> click OK> Toggle on for Developer options and under sub-menu Debugging> USB debugging to "On". NOTE: The rest of the other option can be "Off".
3). Get the ADB Tool only by downloading: android-sdk_r24.4.1-windows.zip and check Update via rev. 25.1.7 & Android SDK Platform-Tools.
4). Go to you unzipped location where Tool is at C:\android-sdk_r24.4.1-windows\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools and open the Windows Command to this location.
5). Connect your micro USB to USB cable from your LG G Pad X 8.0 (or smartphone or tablet) to your PC's USB port.
6). From your Android notification top drop down menu > pick the USB Circle icon and change option from Charging to "File transfer".
7). Back to the Windows command box type in adb devices. If detected device you should see your tablet. Another hint is when changed to File Transfer option your Windows OS should detect the connection via file transfer type.
8). Now that it see it. Type in from the Windows Command 'adb shell'.
9). Your command should change to shell@b3:/$.
10). Type in <sm partition disk: <same number size that was listed from the sm list-disks> private. NOTE: Putting the ' does not work as part of the command.
11). Go to check your SD Storage to see if it included the SD Storage space as the whole total for the Android OS.

This is the end to the short quick guide. Below is the full detail guide.
NOTE: The LG G Pad X 8.0 does support SanDisk 200GB Ultra MicroSDXC UHS 1 (SDSDQUAN-200G-A4A).

=============================================================================

Detail Step To Step Guide:
Tools Needed:
1). Android SDK Manger Need [by downloading it]:
o Android SDK Platform-Tools
? Download From https://developer.android.com/studio/index.html Search For "
android-sdk_r24.4.1-windows.zip"
Platform SDK tools package Size SHA-1 checksum
android-sdk_r24.4.1-windows.zip 190 MB 66b6a6433053c152b22bf8cab19c0f3fef4eba49
No installer (199701062 bytes)
? Unzip and put it in the root of your C:\ with the folder named "android-sdk_r24.4.1-windows"

? Pick Android SDK Tools for update rev. 25.1.7 and Android SDK Platform-tools and from the sub-extras > Google USB Driver [NOTE: This one might be optional if you can it to "see" your phone or tablet so maybe skip it for now until later to see if this is needed along with the smartphone or tablet manufacturer's driver/s.] After checking those 3 checkboxes click on "Install 3 package...".

How To Enable The Simple But Tricky Hidden Fun Ways To Enable The Developer Options.
To Unlock your "God Mode" option ; > Go from your "Gear" icon Setting Menu Option> About Tablet>

o After you enable the Developer options and Turn the On button by toggle it right under the Debugging> USB debugging option.

Be aware if your USB is only function as in Charge Only mode it will not be seen by ADB or Windows OS.

Tap on the USB Circle Icon and change it to File Transfer.
NOTE: You have to choose "File transfer" for your Windows 10 to see it. I just did the "Just Once" and not Always. Although I before you can go back to the USB notification icon and change it to your liken.

You will also be prompted to ask if you wanted to allow the USB Debugging connection. Check it allow and click on OK.

Go to the subfolder location (platform-tools folder) where your ADB.exe file is located. Highlight this folder, "platform-tools" and hold down the Shift keyboard key and select> Open command window here.
NOTE: Even my was run on Administrator Mode it is not required.
You may need the Google driver or the Manufacturer's drivers:
For our model LG G Pad X 8.0 V521WG Driver:
Go to http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobi...WG#manuals and on the right click on the Software Icon link.

Get the LG Bridge for Windows or Mac driver that includes the LG Mobile Drivers or just click the LG Mobile Driver download link to get it. Install one of these application.

For other manufacturer's driver go to this website for details: http://www.howtogeek.com/125769/h...e-utility/

Okay now we can be ready to run the command to format your SD micro card correctly after running the "adb devices" and sees your device.

Type in the command <adb shell>
Type in <sm partition disk:<what was from your sm list-disks number> private>.

Before the fix:

After the fix:

Now for the test!!
Get AppMgr III (App 2 SD) or any of your favorite "Move To SD" Android apps:

https://play.google.com/store/app...p2sd&hl=en

Select the app you wanted to move> Pick "Move app"> Storage > Storage used> select Change.

Pick SD card.
Click MOVE to move it to SD card.

Notes
The service on the tablet line shows as $20/mo for 2GB data, but any T-mobile Postpaid Simple Choice voice-line account holder gets this service for $10 automatically.

So YMMV on the $20 activation fee. Talk to the customer service or your local store manager and see what they can do.

Upgrade is okay, add-a-line is also okay, as long as you do their EIP ($10 x 24mo).

$240 plus $30 is not "free"
This is legit and will go FP tomorrow. The OP posted it in a pretty convoluted way, but here's the math -

The following is only if you're an existing Tmo customer, as service is $10 a month instead of $20.

$0 down for the tablet + taxes + 1st month service = $40 or so paid upfront.
Wait for rebate to be approved, usually around 8 weeks. You've now rung up an extra $10 in service since it's taken 2 months.
Rebate approval arrives on the site, cancel the service. Pay $240 for the tablet on the spot.
Receive rebate card for $240.

In the end, you've paid 2 months service plus taxes.

STARTS TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY 6-15-16
T-Mobile link, http://www.t-mobile.com/internet-...-x-80.html

OP, can I borrow your money to pay for this Free LG G Pad X 8.0?

Understood that op said "free" but every cell phone rebate has stipulations, thats like slamming the s7 or iphone bogos for requiring service. The G pad is a good upgrade over the alcatel, the fathers day tablet last year was fp from what I remember, thanks for the heads up, with cash back websites the cost is minimal for a decent tablet.

sounds like a good deal to me. if the rebate is the full $240 tomorrow. aka about 5 min. from now. tmobile does not do early termination fees from my understanding.

That's what I am curious about...there is not a single reference that states REBATE IS FULL $240..

IT looks to me like only Alcatel 7" is free..

see link below if it shows correctly - or it is the 2nd tab
