RingPlus Phone?

syke1 16 10 June 15, 2016 at 01:19 AM
So I have a RingPlus account, but my HTC Desire 816 died, and I discovered (to my chagrin) that Sprint no longer allows pre-paid devices to pass the requisite FED check to activate on the RingPlus network. In other words, I can't get my phone refurbed under its warranty or even replaced with a new one. Which means I'm now in the market for a new phone for my RP account, but am at a total loss as to where to go for an economical phone that will actually pass FED. I checked the RP store for their phones, but they're charging some ridiculous $20 shipping charge which kills all their current Father's Day "deals". Any suggestions? I really don't use the phone all that much, mostly for blue tooth streaming and web surfing (mostly google maps), so ideally I'd like to spend less than $150. Thanks!

For the last 6 weeks, there has been plenty of decent iPhone 5s models on Craigslist available for under $150. However, in the past couple of weeks they seem to have dried up and everything seems to be in the $200 range.

Did you ever think about getting the 5x? I saw the 16 gb version for close to your price point, and these days the 32 gb is also on sale a lot

And if you buy that phone it will be relevant for a very long time - you probably won't have to switch for a while considering your needs

Thanks for the response; I ended up going with a new Kyocera Hydro Vibe for a little under $45 on E-Bay. They're absolute tanks as far as phones go, so I figured I'd get something cheap and durable as a placeholder until BF deals bring some of the better phones down in price.

just wondering since we are on this topic, is there any dual sim that would work for ringplus and verizon? I saw an unlocked blue studio x plus on craiglist that is advertised as "dual sim" and wonder if something like that would work?
