Is there any way to just pay for the ESPN Insider? I just want the articles without getting the magazine that I never end up reading!

Not that I know of...you can try requesting from ESPN, that they stop delivering the paper copy of the magazine. Folks here at SD's have reported varying results with that request. YMMV

DM does not auto-renew unless you sign up for their DiscountLock program.

* Uncheck the box for the DiscountLock Program during Checkout.
* If you do sign up for it, and want to cancel it, you can do so at any time via your acct at the DM website.

Details on DiscountLock from DM Website
We do not do forced automatic renewals. For those who do not want to miss any issues, and wish to lock in the discount they got, we offer DiscountLock. If you are enrolled in DiscountLock, we will automatically renew your subscription at that the same discounted price, if available, before the end of your ordered term. This means you won’t have to worry about paying a higher price when at time of renewal and you won't have any disruption in your subscription service.

If you use PayPal for your purchase, DM (like some other vendors), will add an authorization on your account for recurring payments (although if you do not sign up for the DiscountLock program, DM will not auto-renew).

Some folks may wish to remove this from their PayPal account.

DiscountMags does not auto-renew, but when you sign up for Insider, ESPN will request a credit card number. The subscription to Insider, will indeed auto-renew (it's indicated in the fine print). ESPN (not DiscountMags) will attempt to renew the subscription.

Fine Print About the Insider Auto-Renew
As an added benefit, you will also be enrolled in our automatic renewal program as described on the page that follows. Approximately 30 days before your credit card is charged, you will receive an email notifying you of the impending charge and instructions on how to cancel should you wish to terminate your subscription. Your credit card will be charged in time to renew your subscription so you won't miss a single issue!

No matter how you choose to pay, you will need to cancel the auto-renew. You can cancel it at any time - you don't need to wait until the end of your Insider subscription term. You're cancelling the auto-renew, not access to Insider.

You can cancel the auto-renewal of Insider by calling, using live chat or email.

I've done espn before, but not through discount mags.

Is this for new espn subscribers through discount mags, or new to espn overall?

New to ESPN overall.

You could try to order it and see if it goes thru...YMMV.

You could try to order it, and send it to a variation of your name (J Smith instead of John Smith) or add "Apt 1" to your address. Some SD'ers have reported in other threads that it worked for them. YMMV

Alternatively you could order it to a completely different name/address...and when the subscription is active, you can change the name/addy to your own. Typically you can access the subscription account online before you receive your first issue. YMMV

If you need to check the subscription details (mailing name/addy etc) on your previous subscription to ESPN, you can do so below.
