Looks like most of the patriot drives have a rebate offer on top of already being on sale at frys.

-120GB blast is $25.95 - http://www.frys.com/product/85350...IN_RSLT_PG

-120GB blaze is $29.95 - http://www.frys.com/product/82873...IN_RSLT_PG

-240gb blast is $47.95 - http://www.frys.com/product/85350...IN_RSLT_PG

Offer is online as well as in store at time of posting. There were a few others on sale but these seem to be the most noteworthy.

Interesting.. It looks like the 120gb blaze rebate is different from the blast rebates. I am thinking I might get one of ea. Any one see a problem with getting the rebates?

No problem at all. 2 different Rebate numbers, 2 different rebate forms. 4myrebates will know and accept it if everything else is in order.

Go for it. Just submit in two different envelopes.

it doesn't have to be two different orders. BUT if it makes you feel better doing so, you can.

I've done hundreds of rebates with mixed rebates within one order, never a problem.

I was thinking of getting 2 as well but review seem all over on Patriot series with failures, so I decided to get just one and use it for my boot in a HTPC without data.

Crappy? eh I wouldn't say that. Low end? Yeah. But they use the same Phison controller that half the other cheap drives use. I have the 60gb blast drive in my HTPC and no issues so far.

Problem I have is there are not many forum reviews on these and different sizes may use different controllers just varied user feedback reviews. The 480 and 960 use Phison S10. This 120GB seems to have been removed from the Patriot website so finding details may be difficult. being a budget one may not have S10

Heck some manufacturers even swap out controllers after submitting them for review!

And, I don't know of a software that can detect which controller is on board.

Hence, I would only put in my HTPC for booting and no data after imaging a backup for those just in case moments.

How are these compared to the Sandisk 120GB that often pops up for $35 with no rebate?

If the Sandisk is better (or has better warranty/support), the extra 5 bucks and avoiding the hassle of the MIR may be worth it.

These are reported to have faster write speeds than sandisk but I would consider the sadisk more reliable in the long run. I have 2x of the sandisk $35 drives and 1x 60 gb blaze patriot drive in various machines. No issues with any of them.
